How can an artist make paintings without paintbrushes?

I wanted to make abstract paintings. This time without paintbrushes or other traditional painting tools. With which object can I best achieve that, I asked myself. After almost giving up hope, I saw a sad ceramic clown among the vases. I took him home. First functioning as a piggy bank, now has an art career. Anyway, how did I eventually proceed?
